Scope of works on this project included but was not limited to:

  • 100m of new seawall (including bleacher seating)
  • Retaining walls
  • Promenade works
  • Repairs to beach access ramps
  • Stormwater drainage

Other aspects of the project included; working in a beach environment with weather, tides and swell conditions to contend with, strict environmental controls to ensure stability and prevent erosion, access and machinery constraints.
As part of the scope, exisiting sandstone from the old seawall was used as a feature in part of the new works; this included the recovery of a petrified log located in the centre of the original wall. This log was preserved for the duration of the works and also used as a feature in the newly completed structure.
