This project was delivered in a 4 day rail shut down in August 2013. The existing bridges were removed and a foundation layer of fine crushed rock placed beneath a mass concrete blinding slab. The precast box culvert sections weighing 18 tonnes were then placed by our 50 tonne crawler crane. A supplementary 100t mobile crane was hired to maintain schedule on the second bridge. Precast wing walls were installed and track formation reinstated.
Apron slabs and rip rap scour protection were installed in the ensuing weeks.
