Bridge and Civil were awarded the contract to replace the Rail Underbridge at Tullamore on the Bogan Gate to Tottenham Line (544.712 km). The works were required to reduce maintenance costs and ensure the structural integrity of the Underbridge, and the reliability and safety of the rail network.
The scope of works involved the replacement of a timber and concrete Underbridge with 14 pre-cast reinforced concrete four-sided box culverts and one precast wing wall. Aprons and scour protection were installed at the culvert openings.
Work commenced and was completed during a scheduled 14 Day Rail close down 8th – 21st May 2017.
