Flooding near Cooryong in 2011 damaged beyond repair the Germans Road bridge and also significantly damaged two other nearby bridges.
We installed a temporary bridge initially and then we designed and constructed a replacement bridge of 2 x 12m spans utilising precast beams with cast insitu deck, on cast insitu piles and abutments and precast piles extending into the headstock for the central pier. The work was completed in 6 weeks, thus minimising inconvenience to the local community.
Concurrently, we repaired the other damaged bridges.
